Teenage Girl Dies Covered in Bruises ... Gyeongnam Police Detain Mother in Her 40s for Investigation
The police are conducting a detention investigation into the biological mother in connection with a case where a teenage girl was brought to a hospital with bruises all over her body and was pronounced dead.
According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency on September 30, at around 4:37 p.m. on September 22, a teenage girl, referred to as "A," was brought to the emergency room of a hospital in Namhae County.
At the time, her biological mother, a woman in her 40s referred to as "B," brought A to the hospital by car, but A already had no pulse or respiration.
It is presumed that A was already deceased when she arrived at the hospital.
The hospital's medical staff discovered numerous bruises and wounds covering various parts of A's body and, suspecting a crime, reported the case to the police.
The mother and daughter reside in Jinju, and it has been determined that they visited Namhae County on September 21, the day before A's death.
The police arrested B on September 25 on charges of child abandonment resulting in death, alleging that she failed to provide timely medical treatment for her daughter, for whom she had a duty of care.
