The Daesun Public Interest Foundation (Chairman Cho Sungje) held the "20th Presidential Social Worker Awards Ceremony 2025" at 2 p.m. on September 29 at the Daesun Distillery plant in Gijang.
The ceremony was attended by over 100 people, including Chairman Cho Sungje of the Daesun Public Interest Foundation, award recipients, and representatives from the social worker associations of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
This year, a total of 99 social workers were honored, including 62 from Busan, 31 from Ulsan, 6 from Gyeongnam, and 3 recipients of the newly established Special Award. The Special Award, introduced this year, was given to individuals who set an exemplary standard through their dedicated contributions and is divided into the Grand Prize, Gold Prize, and Silver Prize.
The Presidential Social Worker Award is a social contribution program jointly organized by the Daesun Public Interest Foundation and the social worker associations of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam since 2007. It was established to encourage social workers who are dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups and the public good in the region, and to contribute to the provision of improved welfare services.
Cho Sungje, Chairman of the Daesun Public Interest Foundation, stated, "I believe social workers are the architects of our community who design a warm society. The Presidential Social Worker Award will serve as a solid foundation for their noble journey."

The Daesun Public Interest Foundation is the first private public interest foundation in Busan, established in 2005 with a full capital contribution of 4 billion won by Daesun Distillery Co., a leading local company in Busan celebrating its 95th anniversary this year, as part of its ESG management. Despite the ongoing domestic and global economic downturn, the foundation continues to actively engage in a wide range of social contribution activities, including scholarship programs for social welfare majors, the Presidential Social Worker Awards, and free meal support for underprivileged groups in the region.
