Samsung Heavy Industries Wins Order for Two Crude Oil Tankers Worth 237.3 Billion Won
51% of Annual Target Achieved
Order from Oceania Shipowner... Delivery by 2028
Samsung Heavy Industries has secured a new order for two crude oil tankers worth a total of 237.3 billion won from a shipowner in the Oceania region. With this contract, the company has surpassed half of its annual order target for the year.
On September 30, Samsung Heavy Industries announced that the vessels are scheduled to be delivered sequentially by May 2028. With this latest order, the company has secured a total of 5 billion dollars (approximately 7 trillion won) this year, achieving 51% of its annual target of 9.8 billion dollars set at the beginning of the year.
By vessel type, the company has secured a total of 27 ships so far: 7 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 9 shuttle tankers, 2 container ships, 2 ethane carriers, 6 crude oil tankers, and 1 preliminary contract for offshore production facilities.

A representative from Samsung Heavy Industries stated, "Crude oil tankers have a high proportion of aging vessels, so replacement demand is expected to remain steady," adding, "We will continue to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international partners to respond flexibly to changes in the global market environment."
