A Campus Opens in the Free Economic Zone... Busan-Jinhae Authority Signs 'Regional Development and Talent Cultivation' Agreement with Inje University
Establishing an Operational and Support System for Glocal University On-Site Campus
Leading the Creation of an Innovation Ecosystem and Cultivation of Customized Talent for Companies
Did a university campus just open at the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority?
On September 29, the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Seongho) signed a "Business Agreement for Regional Industry Development and Talent Cultivation" with Inje University (President Jeon Minhyeon) in the main conference room of the authority. The main project of this agreement is the establishment of a glocal university on-site campus within the authority.
The two institutions agreed to: ▲ establish a cooperative system for the operation and support of the glocal university on-site campus; ▲ promote joint education and technology exchange between companies located in the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone and Inje University; ▲ establish a virtuous cycle system of talent cultivation, employment and entrepreneurship, and local settlement; and ▲ pursue close cooperation in key strategic industries such as smart logistics, future mobility, and bio-healthcare.
This agreement was prepared to systematically nurture customized talent required by local companies and to build an innovation ecosystem linked to key strategic industries at the authority. A new industry-academia cooperation platform directly connecting tenant companies and universities will be established, focusing on industries such as smart logistics, future mobility, and bio-healthcare, which are being intensively fostered by the authority.
The on-site campus will be set up inside the promotional hall on the first floor of the authority, providing Inje University students with a foundation to learn and conduct research in real corporate environments. Tenant companies will receive practical benefits such as support for resolving technical challenges and securing skilled personnel. Through this initiative, the authority plans to create a virtuous cycle system for corporate growth and talent development.
Starting with the opening of this on-site campus, the authority plans to offer a variety of programs, including company briefings, student field visits, and expert lectures, aiming to establish itself as a leading regional hub for industry-academia innovation.
