The Jindo High-Speed Rail Promotion Committee operated a promotional booth at the festival, which was held from the 19th to the 21st, introducing the need for high-speed rail and its expected benefits, distributing promotional brochures, and conducting the signature campaign. The committee was established by local institutions and organizations to have the high-speed rail section from Mokpo Station to Jindo Port included in the national plan.
Additionally, a 'Student Literary Contest' was held, sponsored by the Jindo Office of Education and the Jindo Branch of the Korean Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations, and organized by Jindo County and the Jindo Branch of the Korean Writers’ Association. A total of 210 elementary, middle, and high school students from the region participated in essay writing and drawing activities under the theme 'The Future of Jindo I Dream of, the Hope Opened by High-Speed Rail.'
A committee representative stated, "Reflecting on the historical significance of the Myeongnyang Victory, this served as an opportunity to widely promote the need for high-speed rail as a new leap forward for Jindo," adding, "The literary contest, which expressed hopes for regional development from the perspective of future generations, was a meaningful event."
President Lee Jaemyung previously pledged to extend the Honam High-Speed Rail to Jindo as a presidential campaign promise, and during a press conference marking his 100th day in office, he emphasized the need for transportation infrastructure to achieve balanced regional development.
