On September 25, Hampyeong County announced that it will actively promote the "Emergency Transport Preparedness and Response Project" in cooperation with the Hampyeong Fire Station and Hampyeong Seongsim Hospital to ensure the safety of mothers and fetuses. This project was introduced in response to the increasing likelihood of childbirth occurring inside ambulances during transport.
The county and the fire station will build a systematic emergency response infrastructure through joint response to emergency deliveries, enhanced emergency care inside ambulances, and mutual support for education and training.
In addition, five ambulances in the region will be equipped with emergency delivery kits, which will be managed annually by the public health center. Paramedics will also receive training on how to use the kits.
From September 23 to 25, specialized emergency delivery training was provided to 40 ambulance staff from the public health center and paramedics from the fire station. An obstetrics and gynecology specialist from Hampyeong Seongsim Hospital led both theoretical and practical sessions, covering emergency delivery procedures, team tactics, and emergency response methods, thereby strengthening on-site response capabilities.
Through this project, the county expects to achieve tangible results such as improved on-site response capabilities, immediate utilization of emergency resources, and prevention of secondary risks for mothers and newborns, thereby establishing a practical safety net.
