Paju City to Launch Pilot Program Fully Opening School Facilities to Citizens Starting September 27
Cheongseok Elementary School Gymnasium and Jeokam Elementary School Golf Practice Range
Open to Citizens Free of Charge
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 25 that it will launch a pilot program to fully open school facilities, including gyms, to citizens at two elementary schools starting September 27.
The program will include the gymnasium at Cheongseok Elementary School in Unjeong 5-dong and the indoor golf practice range at Jeokam Elementary School in Jeokseong-myeon. These facilities will be available as open spaces for citizens to use every weekend.
Paju City, which has closely coordinated with the schools for this pilot program, will dispatch facility management personnel to each school to ensure stable operation and to reduce the burden on school staff. The managers will be responsible for guiding and overseeing users, conducting safety inspections, and cleaning the surrounding area. To prepare for any potential accidents, the city has also enrolled in public liability insurance, allowing users to utilize the facilities with peace of mind.
The pilot program will run until the end of this year, with operating hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Citizens who wish to use the facilities can apply on-site without any prior reservation.
