View original imageDamyang County in South Jeolla Province, led by Governor Jeong Cheolwon, announced on September 25 that the "Emergency Fundraising for Flood Damage Recovery" designated donation project under the Hometown Love Donation Program, launched following the special disaster area declaration in July, has early achieved its target amount of 100 million won thanks to the participation of residents and donors.
To support the swift recovery of flood-affected areas and help residents return to their daily lives, the county selected this fundraising initiative as a designated project under the Hometown Love Donation Program and began accepting donations on July 25.
With active promotion by the county and warm participation from residents and donors, the campaign concluded after raising a total of 140 million won. In particular, the Damyang County Residents Association in Seoul and the Japanese volunteer group "Sharing Love" contributed 16.55 million won and 25 million won respectively, and even re-donated their thank-you gifts, demonstrating deep affection for their hometown. The entire amount raised will be used in October to support emergency restoration costs for flood-damaged public facilities in 12 towns and villages.
