On September 25, SK Chemicals announced that it held a family volunteer activity called "Uri Kkiri Chuseok" at the Suji Disabled Welfare Center in Yongin City, where people with and without developmental disabilities participated together.

This activity was prepared in collaboration with the Unjeong Social Welfare Center in Paju and the Suji Disabled Welfare Center, aiming to foster understanding and empathy for disabilities among the families of SK Chemicals members, and to reinforce a sense of living together as a community.

A total of 50 people participated in the event, including SK Chemicals members and their families, as well as users of the Suji Disabled Welfare Center. Eight experience booths were set up at the venue, featuring activities such as making songpyeon, pounding rice cake, creating braille keyrings, a secondhand market, and pop art. Participants also enjoyed traditional games like hopscotch, tuho (arrow-throwing), and jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking).

A variety of programs were also provided to break down prejudices against people with disabilities, including experiences simulating visual impairment.

Park Hojung, a manager at SK Chemicals who participated in the event with his child, said, "My child used to perceive people with disabilities as unfamiliar and difficult, but through this event, I feel that the wall of prejudice has been lowered."

Since 2019, SK Chemicals has continuously operated family volunteer programs focused on environmental initiatives and improving awareness of disabilities. So far, more than 407 members and their families have participated in a total of 12 family volunteer activities, strengthening ties with the local community.

SK Chemicals plans to continue promoting various activities to help solve social issues and spread happiness in the future.

Ko Jeongseok, Head of Management Support at SK Chemicals, said, "We hope that volunteer activities involving our members and their families will go beyond simple event participation and become a sustainable culture of action to address social issues. We will continue to carry out activities to address challenges we face together, such as improving awareness of disabilities, environmental issues, and dementia."
