Enhancing Convenience for Farmers
Providing Efficient Agricultural Services
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 25th that it held an opening ceremony for the new building of the Agricultural Technology Center.
The ceremony was attended by County Governor Kim Yooncheol, County Council Chairman Jeong Bonghun, heads of related organizations, leaders of agricultural associations, as well as over 300 farmers and Hapcheon residents, adding significance to the event.
The construction of the new Agricultural Technology Center was initiated to unify the previously dispersed operations between the main building in Hapcheon-eup and the annex in Yongju-myeon, thereby improving convenience for farmers and providing more efficient agricultural services. Construction began in April 2023 and was completed in April of this year.
Located in the Gopum-ri area of Yongju-myeon, the new center consists of a main building with one basement level and four above-ground floors, and an annex with two above-ground floors. A total of five departments, 24 teams, and approximately 130 staff members will work together for the advancement of agriculture.
Key facilities include the Forestry Division, Promotion Hall, Archive, and Document Storage on the first floor of the main building; the Livestock Division, Agricultural Distribution Division, and Agricultural Guidance Division on the second floor; the Director's Office, Agricultural Policy Division, Small Conference Room, and Large Conference Room on the third floor; and a cafeteria, lounge, and multipurpose room on the fourth floor. The annex is designated for testing and practical training, with a culinary practice room and a Korean literary painting room on the first floor, and research facilities such as the soil testing lab, pest and disease diagnosis lab, and agricultural product safety analysis lab on the second floor.
