Man in His 70s Missing off Gadeokdo, Busan, Found Dead After Six Days

View original imageThe man in his 70s, identified as Mr. A, who went missing after falling overboard from a fishing vessel passing south of Dongdumal, Gadeokdo, Busan, on the 18th, was found dead six days after the accident.
According to the Changwon Coast Guard Station on September 24, at approximately 11:45 a.m. that day, a fishing vessel passing 1.85 kilometers west of Naedo, Geoje City, reported to the Coast Guard that a person was floating in the sea.
Coast Guard officers dispatched to the scene rescued the individual and confirmed the identity as Mr. A.
On the afternoon of the 18th, at 3:22 p.m., Mr. A, a man in his 70s, fell into the sea from a 300-ton fish transport vessel registered in Yeosu, while the vessel was 6 nautical miles south of Dongdumal, Gadeokdo, Busan.
The Coast Guard deployed three patrol ships, two coastal rescue boats, a rescue team, an aircraft, and three vessels from related agencies to continue the search for the missing person.
