He commended the staff, stating, "Despite the series of large-scale events, we were able to complete them without incidents thanks to the efforts of Ilsan Seo District employees."
He continued, "Since on-site executive meetings are a venue to directly hear and address local issues together, I hope this will be a meaningful time to share the issues and residents' demands of Ilsan Seo District and to discuss practical solutions."
He also congratulated the department that received the Prime Minister's Award at the 21st Korea Local Government Management Awards on the 18th for the 'Goyang Customized Job School' project.
Mayor Lee stated that this award "recognizes the achievement of connecting education and employment and contributing to regional employment revitalization through organic cooperation among businesses, local governments, and employment-related institutions." He emphasized, "Please continue to foster the talent that companies need and create a sustainable virtuous cycle of employment that leads to actual hiring."
Additionally, Mayor Lee spoke about the UCLG ASPAC Goyang Congress, which will be held for three days at KINTEX starting today, as well as various festivals and events taking place this autumn. He said, "Festivals and events are a great opportunity to showcase Goyang's charm to domestic and international visitors," and urged for creative and meticulous preparation.
He particularly stressed, "If an event is fun and memorable, word-of-mouth will naturally spread, becoming powerful publicity in itself. Visitors who come to Goyang after hearing about it will stay and spend money in the area, serving as a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy." He highlighted the 'Festanomics' strategy, which links culture and the economy.
Furthermore, Mayor Lee addressed the recent hacking incidents in the telecommunications and financial sectors, emphasizing that administrative agencies are by no means immune. He urged all staff to strictly adhere to basic security protocols, such as managing personal information and blocking suspicious emails.

Finally, Mayor Lee said, "The health of public officials can affect citizens as well," and asked staff to maintain a healthy work environment so that everyone can perform their duties in optimal condition, especially during the change of seasons.
