Wonju City Implements Comprehensive Measures for a Safe and Abundant Chuseok Holiday
Wonju City in Gangwon Province will operate a Comprehensive Countermeasures Situation Room and on-site teams by sector during the seven-day Chuseok holiday from October 3 to October 9, in order to prevent incidents and accidents and to address citizen inconveniences, ensuring that residents enjoy a safe and abundant holiday.
In particular, the city will focus on 21 key measures, including disaster and safety accident response, price stabilization, and the settlement and protection of overdue wages. A total of 238 emergency staff members (34 per day) across 13 teams, including the Comprehensive Countermeasures Situation Room, will work to resolve any inconveniences for citizens.
During the Chuseok holiday, the city will inspect disaster-prone facilities and traffic safety infrastructure to prepare for various incidents and accidents. Efforts will also be made to strengthen the management of African Swine Fever (ASF), Avian Influenza (AI), and Foot-and-Mouth Disease, as well as to implement measures to prevent environmental pollution.
Additionally, a price stabilization team will be operated to monitor price trends for 21 key items and provide related information to the public.
To minimize inconvenience for citizens, on-site teams will be deployed to handle civil complaints. Any issues such as complaint processing, emergency water supply repairs, timely collection of household waste, and road maintenance will be addressed immediately. The city also plans to encourage normal operations at LPG sales outlets and other gas suppliers to ensure a stable supply of gas.
Furthermore, to minimize medical service gaps, four emergency medical institutions will operate 24 hours a day during the holiday period. The city will also designate hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies that will remain open and post this information on the public health center's website.
