Participants shared successful foundation operation cases and presented key tasks for the foundation, including securing professional talent, developing differentiated content, and strengthening cooperation between organizations and groups.
The second meeting, held on September 18 in the main conference room of Yangju City Hall, was attended by over 30 citizens, including Kwon Shin, Acting Director of the Regional Culture Headquarters at the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, and Baek Jeonghee, Deputy Director of the Uijeongbu Cultural Foundation.
This meeting further expanded consensus by directly listening to citizens' opinions, sharing the progress of the foundation's establishment, and presenting a variety of ideas on the foundation's role and ways to enhance the city's competitiveness.
Yangju Mayor Kang Suhyeon stated, "The Yangju Cultural Tourism Foundation will not be just another institution, but will serve as the control tower opening the future of Yangju City," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that Yangju becomes an attractive city where culture and tourism converge, through discussions involving both citizens and experts."
During the discussion led by Kim Dowoong, Director General of Economic, Culture, and Sports Affairs, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on establishing the foundation's vision and mission, expanding performance and everyday cultural infrastructure, integrating and utilizing local cultural resources, fostering local cultural talent, and responding to central government public project bids and securing national funding.
One participant particularly emphasized, "Since the Yangju Cultural Tourism Foundation is launching later than others, it must build its own successful model based on the experiences of existing foundations."
