This inaugural tournament was organized to promote unity and exchange among the institutions belonging to the 'Dongsam Innovation District Marine Cluster Heads Council.' Approximately 80 participants from 16 teams representing 10 organizations competed, fostering camaraderie. The National Institute of Fisheries Science claimed the championship, while the Yeongdo District Office was awarded second place.

The council is composed of 14 marine cluster institutions located in the Dongsam Innovation District of Yeongdo-gu, Busan-including KIOST, Korea Maritime & Ocean University, the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency, and the National Maritime Museum-as well as three supporting organizations: Busan Metropolitan City Hall, Yeongdo District Office, and the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries. KIOST currently serves as the chair institution of the council.

KIOST, together with the council's member organizations, has been contributing to the development of the local community through citizen participation events and social contribution activities aimed at raising awareness of the ocean. Building on this tournament, KIOST plans to further strengthen exchange and cooperation among the affiliated institutions.
