Since its debut in 2023, it has received an enthusiastic response and is now in its third year. This year’s event features a variety of performances, exhibitions, traditional games, and a wide range of experiential programs across the Red Road sections R1 to R6.
The opening ceremony began on September 20 at the special stage in Red Road R6 with a performance by the West African performing arts group Ponike. This was followed by an introduction video about Red Road, a greeting from Kangsoo Park, mayor of Mapo District, congratulatory remarks from guests, and a performance commemorating the third anniversary of Red Road.
The second part featured the Hanbok Festa in Red Road, including a traditional street parade and performances by the traditional arts group Haerak and the Korean music group Lapola. The subsequent Hanbok fashion show showcased both royal Hanbok from the Joseon Dynasty and modern reinterpretations of Hanbok, captivating both local and international visitors. The third part of the event was enlivened by performances from singers featured on Sing Korea and local residents, further heightening the festive atmosphere.
