8th Squadron Navy Service Members Deliver 125 Blood Donation Certificates to Gyeongnam Blood Center
Service Members Practice Sharing Life
in Hopes That Patients Will Regain Their Health
On September 19, service members of the Republic of Korea Navy’s 8th Combat Training Squadron (hereinafter referred to as the “8th Squadron”) practiced sharing life by delivering 125 blood donation certificates, collected through voluntary participation, to the Gyeongnam Blood Center. This donation stemmed from the service members’ sincere hope that patients battling illnesses will regain their health as soon as possible.
Seven service members participated in the event: Lieutenant Colonel Kim Dowon, Warrant Officer Park Kihyun, Master Chief Petty Officer Kim Daeseong, Master Chief Petty Officer Kang Daehwa, Master Chief Petty Officer Lee Kyungrok, Master Chief Petty Officer Jang Yongho, and Master Chief Petty Officer Ko Kyungmin. They have regularly participated in blood donation drives and collected blood donation certificates, which they gathered together to donate to the Gyeongnam Blood Center.
In particular, Warrant Officer Park Kihyun, Master Chief Petty Officer Kim Daeseong, and Master Chief Petty Officer Kang Daehwa have each been recognized for their years of dedication to blood donation, receiving the Honorary Blood Donation Medal, the Gold Medal, and the Silver Medal, respectively. Their devoted participation has set an example for junior service members and played a significant role in promoting a culture of blood donation within the unit.
Lieutenant Colonel Kim Dowon, who organized the event, stated, “A blood donation certificate is not just a piece of paper, but a symbol of hope that saves lives,” and added, “We will continue to take the lead in spreading the culture of blood donation and the movement of sharing life.”

Meanwhile, the 8th Squadron plans to continue various community service activities, including blood donation drives, in order to fulfill its social responsibilities as a military unit serving the people.
