Korea Energy Engineering University (KENTECH) announced on September 17 that it will collaborate with Korea Electric Power Data Network and the international Digital ESG Alliance (i-DEA) to jointly build an ESG digital platform aimed at responding to global environmental regulations and achieving carbon neutrality.

On this day, the three organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the university’s main conference room to cooperate on responding to global environmental regulations and achieving carbon neutrality. They plan to develop an integrated ESG digital platform that can be utilized by the industrial sector. By combining KENTECH’s research capabilities, Korea Electric Power Data Network’s power ICT technology, and Digital ESG Alliance’s experience in ESG management assessment, they aim to establish a system that enables companies to monitor and efficiently manage ESG management and carbon emissions in real time.

Under the agreement, the three organizations will strengthen cooperation in various areas, including: joint discovery, planning, and execution of national projects and research tasks; providing a cloud-based corporate carbon management solution service through Korea Electric Power Data Network; establishing a cooperation hub within KENTECH for research and demonstration of DX (Digital Transformation), AX (AI Transformation), and GX (Green Transformation); and collaborating to build an industrial data network based on data space.

Park Jin-ho, Acting President of KENTECH, stated, "Through this agreement, we will enhance our ESG and carbon neutrality capabilities using digital and AI technologies, and contribute to the creation of a sustainable energy ecosystem by producing research outcomes and cultivating professionals that can be directly experienced in the industrial field."

Meanwhile, the three organizations are aiming to complete the first phase of the joint ESG platform pilot by next year, and plan to continue their collaboration by developing an expanded model that can be utilized by domestic companies in the global market.
