Hongcheon County Holds “Communication Day with the County Governor and Residents”
On September 17 at 2 p.m., Hongcheon County in Gangwon Province will host the “Communication Day with the County Governor and Residents” at the Hongcheon Connection Center, an open communication space located within the Hongcheon Traditional Market.

View original image“Communication Day” is a representative resident participation program introduced during the 8th popularly elected administration, where any resident can meet directly with the county governor to share inconveniences or suggestions regarding daily life. Hongcheon County has set up the Hongcheon Connection Center, a field office in the middle of the traditional market, so that residents who find it difficult to visit the county office can easily access it.
According to Hongcheon County, from September 2023 to August this year, there have been approximately 900 civil complaint consultations conducted through the Connection Center. Starting with 111 cases in September 2023, there were 481 cases in 2024, and as of August 2025, around 300 cases have been received, with at least one consultation taking place every day. In particular, on Communication Day, the number of consultations exceeds this average, indicating active participation from residents.
Shin Youngjae, the Governor of Hongcheon County, stated, “Fulfilling promises to residents and listening directly to their voices in the field is the starting point of county administration,” adding, “We will continue to create a new and developing Hongcheon through open, on-site communication.”

Through this Communication Day, the county aims not only to handle civil complaints but also to actively reflect residents’ opinions in county administration, thereby strengthening trust with residents and realizing a “new Hongcheon where residents are the owners.”
