Daejeon Council Member Lee Geumseon: "I Will Strive to Improve the Childcare Environment at Daycare Centers"
Received Plaque of Appreciation for Contributions to the Advancement of Private Daycare Centers and Protection and Promotion of Childcare Staff Rights
Lee Geumseon, Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Daejeon Metropolitan Council (People Power Party, Yuseong District 4), received a plaque of appreciation on the 16th for her contributions to improving the childcare environment in private daycare centers and enhancing the rights and interests of childcare staff.
As Chairperson of the Education Committee in the second half of the 9th Daejeon Metropolitan Council, Lee Geumseon sponsored a government proposal urging an increase in childcare fees following the freeze on infant and toddler care fees. She also introduced ordinances that include: ▲ establishing a master plan to protect and promote the rights and interests of childcare staff, ▲ conducting fact-finding surveys and implementing rights protection projects, ▲ supporting Daejeon-style part-time childcare, and ▲ providing support for play experience facilities.
She was awarded the plaque of appreciation in recognition of her contributions to improving the childcare environment, such as increasing class operation expenses and mental health allowances for childcare staff, as a result of the ordinance she introduced.

Chairperson Lee Geumseon stated, "I am proud that the ordinance, which reflects the opinions of childcare field practitioners and parents, has expanded fairness and the scope of support for daycare centers," adding, "I will continue to actively communicate with local daycare education families to further improve the childcare environment."
