"Dementia Awareness Day" is an occasion to raise awareness about dementia and honor the social efforts made for patients and their families. Guro District was recognized as a leading local government in the field of missing person prevention, based on its policy execution capabilities and community-based cooperation system.

Guro District has been operating the "G-Bro Project," a missing person simulation drill involving residents, police, and traditional market merchants. For the first time in the country, the district established the "G-Bro Guardians," a dedicated night-time response team, creating a rapid response system. Through drills simulating real-life situations, the district significantly increased the chances of securing the golden hour for missing children and elderly individuals.

Centered around its Dementia Relief Center, the district also runs prevention education, early screening, customized cognitive and physical programs, emotional support for families, and awareness improvement campaigns, working toward building a dementia-friendly city.

At the event, the "Onbodeum Choir," composed of dementia patients and their families, performed their original song "The Road We Walk Together," delivering a message of empathy and solidarity. In addition, Son Eunsil, Deputy Director of the Guro District Dementia Relief Center, received a presidential commendation for her contributions to dementia prevention and management, while the volunteer group "Osaekchanran" was awarded a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare at the Dementia Partner Contest.

Jang Inhong, Mayor of Guro District, stated, "This award is the result of collaboration among the administration, the local community, and residents," adding, "We will continue to do our utmost to create a safe city free from dementia, and a community where families can feel secure."
