Accelerating Innovation in Civil Services and Creating a Pleasant Living Environment
Transforming Civil Service Operations Based on Residents’ Voices
Advancing Resident-Centered Administration
The On-site Civil Service Office in Jijeong-myeon, Wonju, Gangwon Province, will be relocated and expanded from Room 104 to Room 108 on the first floor of the Wonju Medical Device Industry Promotion Institute, with the staff increasing from four to seven members. The office plans to hold an official opening ceremony in December and will begin full-scale operations.
This measure was implemented to promptly address suggestions raised by residents during the mobile mayor’s office event in Jijeong-myeon in August. Until now, residents of the corporate city have experienced inconveniences related to transportation and distance when visiting the Jijeong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, which has jurisdiction over the area. The city plans to significantly enhance the accessibility and processing capacity of civil services by expanding the operation of the on-site office in direct response to residents' demands.
The newly established on-site office will offer a wide range of integrated civil services, including the issuance of official documents, welfare services, resident registration, seal registration, Government24 civil services, and Dream Fulfillment Voucher applications. This will allow residents to conveniently access administrative services equivalent to those provided by the Jijeong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in their immediate vicinity and in a timely manner.
Meanwhile, Wonju City is promoting the "Big Tree Project," which aims to create shaded spaces throughout daily life areas such as the city center, villages, and schools. The planting of large trees at Saemmaru Park in Jijeong-myeon marks the first step of this project, signaling the official start of efforts to improve residential conditions.
Won Kangsoo, Mayor of Wonju, stated, "The relocation and expansion of the on-site civil service office is an immediate and practical response to residents’ requests for on-site civil issue resolution," adding, "We will continue to strengthen field-oriented administration and work to improve the quality of life for our residents."
