Man in His 20s Arrested for Attempting to Lure Middle School Girl in Front of Elevator with "Let's Go for a Drive"
On September 15, Jeonju Wansan Police Station announced that it had obtained an arrest warrant from the Jeonju District Court for Mr. A (in his 20s), who is suspected of attempting to abduct and entice a minor, and is currently investigating him.
Mr. A is accused of attempting to lure and drag away middle school student Ms. B (a teenager) by touching her face and saying things like "Let's go for a drive" in front of an elevator in Pyeonghwa-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, at 10:38 p.m. on September 11. When Ms. B strongly refused, Mr. A fled the scene.
After Ms. B's parents reported the incident, police responded and analyzed nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, apprehending Mr. A at his residence within about three hours. During police questioning, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I did it because Ms. B was pretty."
