National Credit Union Federation of Korea Launches "MG Hangawi Savings Account" Limited to 50,000 Accounts for Teenagers
Up to 6% Preferential Interest Rate Offered
The National Credit Union Federation of Korea announced the launch of the "MG Hangawi Savings Account" in celebration of Chuseok, aiming to help teenagers develop sound financial habits.
This product is a one-year term savings account, limited to 50,000 accounts. It will be available for a limited time from September 15 to September 17. Any middle or high school student between the ages of 13 and 18, as of the account opening date, is eligible to apply. Depositors can contribute up to 200,000 won per month, and the account offers a preferential interest rate of up to 6% per annum on top of the standard one-year term savings rate set by each credit union.

A representative from the National Credit Union Federation of Korea stated, "This product was specially designed to help teenagers develop reasonable saving habits," and added, "We will continue to support future generations through a variety of financial products."
