Chungnam Provincial Council Expands Loan Limit for Young Farmers and Fishermen to 300 Million Won
Ordinance Proposed by Lee Yeonhee Passes Committee Review
Support Strengthened for Revitalization and Settlement in Rural and Fishing Communities
The Chungnam Provincial Council will raise the loan limit for young farmers and fishermen from 200 million won to 300 million won in order to revitalize rural and fishing communities facing crises due to population decline and aging. This move is intended to provide institutional support for building a sustainable foundation in these areas.
On September 15, the council announced that the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Chungcheongnam-do Rural and Fishing Village Promotion Fund," sponsored by Councilor Lee Yeonhee (Seosan 3, People Power Party), had passed the standing committee's review.
This amendment aims to support the stable settlement of young farmers and fishermen as they face increased management burdens due to the prolonged rise in prices of agricultural materials such as fertilizer.
The main points include: ▲expanding the loan support amount from the Rural and Fishing Village Promotion Fund from 200 million won to 300 million won; ▲strengthening the functions of the fund's review committee.
Councilor Lee Yeonhee stated, "Successor and young farmers and fishermen are assets who will lead the next generation of rural and fishing communities," and added, "I hope this ordinance revision will reduce the financial burden of farming and provide a stable foundation for settlement."
