Disabled welfare organizations in Gwangju Nam-gu will now receive institutional support to carry out a variety of projects.
The Gwangju Nam-gu Council announced on the 12th that the ordinance bill on support for the protection and fostering of disabled welfare organizations in Nam-gu, proposed by Council Member Sangkil Park at the 314th extraordinary session, has passed the review of the Social Construction Committee.
This ordinance bill aims to provide a legal basis for financial and administrative support to ensure that disabled welfare organizations can continue their diverse projects and roles to empower people with disabilities and improve their welfare. It was also proposed to strengthen the foundation for independence and promote the rights and interests of people with disabilities.
The main provisions include: ▲matters related to support projects ▲matters regarding the delegation, guidance, and supervision of tasks ▲matters concerning the establishment of cooperative systems, among others.
Council Member Park stated, "With this ordinance amendment, we expect that institutional support for disabled welfare organizations will help establish an effective policy delivery system for people with disabilities."
