Sign MOU to Revitalize Sokcho Port

원본보기 아이콘This event was organized to gather a wide range of firsthand opinions from the approximately 100 members of the cruise experience group, who had just completed a seven-day, six-night cruise departing from Sokcho Port on September 6, and to explore future directions for the development of Sokcho Port's cruise business.
The meeting began with a greeting from the Deputy Mayor of Sokcho and proceeded in a format where the experience group freely shared their impressions and suggestions.
Participants discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the cruise trip, suggested areas for improvement, and shared ideas for advancing the cruise industry at Sokcho Port. City officials responded sincerely to these comments, fostering active communication.
A satisfaction survey was also conducted among the experience group, collecting citizens' feedback on the overall program.
The event concluded with a group commemorative photo and the presentation of souvenirs to key participants.
After the meeting, Sokcho City signed a 'Sokcho Port Cruise Activation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)' with Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Lotte Tour Development, and Costa Cruises.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Global Headquarters of Gangwon Province, the Deputy Mayor of Sokcho, the CEO of Lotte Tour Development, the Vice President of Costa Cruises, and other key figures.

원본보기 아이콘Under the agreement, Gangwon Province will be responsible for administrative and financial support, including operating the experience group, improving facilities, and conducting regional promotions. Sokcho City will focus on developing tourism content and enhancing transportation convenience. Lotte Tour Development will handle cruise product planning, distribution, and sales, as well as nurturing local travel agencies. Costa Cruises will support the activation of the Sokcho Port cruise industry through cruise ship operations, joint marketing, and providing passenger data.
Based on this agreement, the participants at the signing ceremony reaffirmed their shared commitment to developing Sokcho Port into a leading cruise port in Northeast Asia.
An official from Sokcho City stated, "The vivid feedback from our citizens serves as a foundation for the development of the cruise business," adding, "With this business agreement as a starting point, we will strengthen cooperation with Gangwon Province, the tourism industry, and cruise operators to establish Sokcho Port as a hub for cruises in Northeast Asia."
