The union claimed that on August 22, while holding a banner and conducting a publicity campaign in front of the CEO's office inside the factory, company representatives who confronted them forcibly seized the banner and assaulted a union executive.
The union also requested that the company be punished for defamation by publication, referring to a statement distributed by management that claimed, "The union's claim of being collectively assaulted is false."
The union stated, "Management interfered with the union's lawful and legitimate industrial action," and added, "We will also file an additional complaint with the labor authorities for unfair labor practices."
Previously, on August 22, the GGM union engaged in a publicity campaign condemning management over the controversy regarding early loan repayment, which led to a physical altercation with company representatives who tried to stop them.
During this incident, the branch president collapsed and was taken to the hospital. The union claimed that he was assaulted, while management countered that he had fallen on his own and was acting.
