Korea Exchange Donates 50 Million Won to Support Financial Education for People with Developmental Disabilities
On September 11, the Korea Exchange delivered a financial education sponsorship fund of 50 million won to Peach Market at the Busan City Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled to support financial education for people with developmental disabilities.
Peach Market is a specialized institution that develops educational content for slow learners.
The donation ceremony was attended by Jeong Sangho, Secretary General of the KRX National Happiness Foundation, Ham Euyeong, CEO of Peach Market, and Lee Seunghee, Director of the Busan City Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled, among others.
The 'Financial Education Program for People with Developmental Disabilities' is part of a support project for financially marginalized groups that has been promoted since 2024. It provides customized financial education, focusing on everyday financial situations (work, neighbors, life), to help improve the independence of people with developmental disabilities.
This year, the program has been expanded to the Busan region, where professional instructors will conduct eight sessions per institution at 25 organizations, including welfare centers for the disabled and companies employing people with developmental disabilities, targeting around 360 individuals with developmental disabilities.
