Busan Port Authority Launches Precision Safety Diagnosis of Electrical Facilities to Enhance Port Power Supply Stability
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) is launching the "Busan Port Electrical Facilities Precision Safety Diagnosis and Management System Establishment Service" to address the increasing demand for electricity due to port automation and the transition to eco-friendly equipment, as well as to enhance the safety of port users.
This service began with a kick-off meeting on September 4 and will continue for 12 months, targeting the 154kV substations at New Port and North Port, as well as electrical facilities within the container terminals.
BPA plans to inspect key electrical equipment such as GIS, transformers, and power cables to detect aging and deterioration risks at an early stage, and to identify electrical defects and potential causes of power outages in advance.
Based on the findings, the authority will establish mid- and long-term maintenance plans and a management system to improve the reliability of power supply and strengthen the stability of port operations.
In addition, BPA will update management standards, including inspection criteria and service life for electrical facilities, and standardize regular inspection and management manuals to further enhance the level of safety management. This is expected to improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
