SPG Joins Humanoid Alliance Subcommittee within Manufacturing AX Alliance
SPG announced on the 11th that it was selected as a participating company in the Humanoid Alliance, a subcommittee of the Physical AI division, at the Manufacturing AX Alliance Launch Ceremony held on the 10th.
The Humanoid Alliance subcommittee, in which SPG is participating, aims to mass-produce more than 1,000 foundation models (multi-purpose and multi-functional AI models) for humanoid robots annually starting in 2029.
The alliance was launched to overcome the structural crisis in the domestic manufacturing industry and to establish a "Korean-style public-private partnership model."
The Manufacturing AX Alliance is divided into 10 industry-specific subcommittees. Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jungkwan and Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chey Taewon serve as co-chairs, overseeing these subcommittees and leading public-private cooperation.
The 10 subcommittees consist of: AI Factory, AI Manufacturing Services, AI Distribution and Logistics, Autonomous Vehicles, Humanoids, Autonomous Ships, AI Home Appliances, AI Defense, AI Bio, and AI Semiconductors.
Ye Younggil, CEO of SPG, stated, "We are participating in the Humanoid Alliance subcommittee as a company specializing in materials and components," adding, "Through collaboration with leading universities, institutions, and client companies, we will rapidly expand the development and supply of various actuators for humanoids."
