PwC Consulting to Host Forum on "Key Preparations for Corporate AI Competitiveness in the Era of the AI Basic Act"
2 p.m. on October 1
PwC Consulting announced on September 11 that it will host a forum titled "The Era of the AI Basic Act: Key Preparations for Corporate AI Competitiveness" at its headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, at 2 p.m. on October 1, under the direction of the recently launched AI Trust Center.
With the "AI Basic Act on the Promotion and Trust-Based Development of Artificial Intelligence" set to take effect in January next year, the government has recently accelerated the legislative process by announcing the direction of subordinate regulations and a draft enforcement decree. This forum has been organized to help companies, which are struggling to establish detailed response measures as the legislation takes shape, respond to regulations more swiftly and systematically.
The forum will consist of six sessions. First, an official from the Ministry of Science and ICT will deliver a keynote presentation, providing a detailed explanation of the enforcement decree and guidelines of the AI Basic Act. This will be followed by Jin-Yu Kim, head of the AI Trust Center (Partner), who will speak on "The AI Basic Act: Practical Issues and Solutions for Companies." Partner Eui-Jun Kim will then give a lecture on "How Prepared Are Korean Companies?"
In the next session, Partners Hyun-Chul Park and Seong-Ho Lee will present on "AI Risk Management Strategies and Security Measures," while Partner Yu-Hyun Park will address "Data as an Obstacle to AI Utilization: How Should It Be Managed?" Finally, Partner Seong-Mun Jeong will give a lecture on "How Far Can Technology Go in Preventing AI Hallucinations?"
Jin-Yu Kim, head of the AI Trust Center at PwC Consulting and the organizer of this forum, stated, "The AI Trust Center aims to accelerate corporate AI innovation while providing a stable regulatory response framework. I hope this forum will serve as an opportunity for companies preparing for the AI era to obtain practical guidelines necessary for survival and securing competitiveness."
Applications for participation can be submitted on the PwC Consulting website until September 26, and there is no participation fee.
