Nongshim's Chupa Chups "Sour Jelly" Series Surpasses 8 Million Units in Cumulative Sales
Sweet and Sour Jelly Captivates Gen Z Taste Buds
Nongshim announced on September 11 that the global candy brand Chupa Chups' "Sour Jelly" series, for which it handles domestic distribution, surpassed cumulative sales of 8 million units between January and July this year. This achievement is attributed to the expanding consumer base for jelly products and the growing demand for new flavors.
Chupa Chups Sour Jelly is gaining significant popularity among consumers in their teens and twenties who seek new jelly experiences, particularly through social media content and mukbang videos, thanks to its strong sourness and harmonious sweetness.
In particular, the flagship product of the Sour Jelly series, "Chupa Chups Sour Gecko Jelly," has shown explosive growth, with sales increasing by more than 330% over the past four years since 2021. Its unique lizard shape and soft texture have earned it the nickname "Lizard Jelly," making it a trendy item. Other popular products in the series include "Sour Bites," known for their rainbow colors, and "Sour Belt," which offers a unique texture when frozen.
