Governor Kim Dongon Emphasizes Transforming Achievements of the 7th and 8th Administrations into Everyday Happiness

View original imageCheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province has declared "County Administration Led by Residents" as its core vision for next year and has officially begun efforts to identify major policy initiatives for 2026. The county stated its intention to move beyond simple administrative achievements and introduce policies that residents can tangibly experience in their daily lives.
On September 9, Cheongyang County held the "2026 Policy Planning Meeting" in the main conference room at the county office and unveiled a total of 121 policy projects.
According to the county on September 11, out of the total policy projects, 90 are new initiatives and 31 are supplementary or improvement projects, with the total project budget amounting to approximately 247.6 billion won.
By sector, the comprehensive policies encompass all aspects of county administration, including 21 projects in participatory administration, 20 in agriculture, 12 in health and welfare, 21 in economy and tourism, 22 in local and construction, and 25 projects for towns and townships.
In the area of participatory administration, initiatives include operating a vocational school directly involving residents and providing rental support for junior employees. In agriculture, the county proposed establishing a timely implementation system for agricultural subsidy projects, creating an online food distribution platform, and developing a multi-sensory rural tour program.
In health and welfare, the core projects are the "School Violence ZERO Project" for youth safety, establishing smart senior centers for the elderly, and strengthening public healthcare infrastructure by expanding emergency rooms and inpatient wards.
For economy and tourism, notable initiatives include operating a youth support center, launching a workplace table tennis team, and revitalizing Cheonjangho Lake.
County Governor Kim Dongon stated, "If the 7th and 8th popularly elected administrations have laid the foundation for Cheongyang’s growth, it is now time to transform those achievements into happiness policies that residents can directly feel. The year 2026 will mark the starting point for realizing county administration where residents are the true protagonists."
