Gwangyang Steelworks Delivers Side Dishes to Local Families with Disabilities
Practicing Sharing Through Collaboration with Lunchbox Companies
On September 10, Gwangyang Steelworks of POSCO (headed by Ko Jaeyoon) delivered warmth to the local community by carrying out a side dish delivery volunteer activity for people with disabilities in the region.
According to Gwangyang Steelworks on September 11, this volunteer activity, in which employees joined forces, was not limited to simply providing meals. It was also intended to alleviate social isolation among vulnerable groups and offer emotional support.

Notably, each lunchbox company voluntarily participated in this sharing initiative, giving it special significance.
The Love Sharing Association volunteer group, made up of employees from the steelmaking department at Gwangyang Steelworks, personally visited the homes of families with disabilities to deliver the carefully prepared side dishes.
During this process, the volunteers showed thoughtful consideration by checking in on the recipients and identifying any additional support needs. In addition to regularly delivering side dishes to families with disabilities, they also carry out environmental clean-up activities in the neighborhoods around the steelworks and the Kumho-dong residential complex, spreading warmth throughout the local community.
The Ballocha Volunteer Group, consisting of Gwangyang Steelworks employees and their families, delivered lunchboxes to the Haetbit Village Daycare Center to ensure a happy lunchtime for children with disabilities, and also volunteered as school commute assistants to help create a safe route to school for these children.
In particular, the Ballocha Volunteer Group has been making daily visits to the Haetbit Village Daycare Center by utilizing personal and shift holidays, working hard to provide convenient and safe commutes as well as plentiful lunches for children with disabilities.
Ms. Lee, a member of a family with disabilities who received the side dishes that day, said, "Because of my physical difficulties, it is not easy to go grocery shopping or prepare side dishes, so I am truly grateful that you came to visit and take care of us in person. The kindness of our neighbors gives us great strength."
