The exchange meeting was attended by six key figures from Fraunhofer, including Peter Dold, Director of Fraunhofer IWKS (Resource Strategy and Recycling Research Institute), and Elisabeth von Hauff, Director of Fraunhofer FEP (Organic Electronics, Electron Beam, and Plasma Technology Research Institute). From Pusan National University, key executives and faculty members participated, including Park Sanghoo, Vice President for External Affairs and Strategy, Jung Wonho, Dean of Research, Kim Suhyeong, Dean of the College of Nanoscience and Technology, and Jeong Jucheol, Dean of the College of Engineering.
During the meeting, the two institutions discussed cooperation measures focusing on four main agendas: expanding joint research, establishing an innovation platform, researcher and student exchanges, and mutual exchange of research personnel. In particular, they agreed to strengthen the institutional and comprehensive foundation for collaboration by signing a new memorandum of understanding with the Fraunhofer headquarters, moving beyond cooperation at the individual institute level.
This exchange meeting was organized to facilitate discussions on collaboration between Pusan National University and key Fraunhofer representatives visiting Korea to attend the APEC SME Ministerial Meeting. Both sides plan to promote international joint research and academia-industry collaboration, aiming to expand the Korea-Germany innovation network.
