Experience Traditional Royal Desserts at Changdeokgung Palace Throughout October
Traditional Korean Desserts and Herbal Teas
Reflecting the Philosophy of "Food and Medicine from the Same Source"
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the National Heritage Administration announced on September 9 that it will operate the 'Changdeokgung Yakdabang' from October 1 to 23 in collaboration with the National Heritage Promotion Institute. The program will be held three times a day, with thirty participants per session, and each session will last 70 minutes. However, participation is not possible on Mondays, as Changdeokgung Palace is closed on that day.
The Changdeokgung Yakdabang is a program that utilizes the traditional pharmacy space, where the royal clinic of the Joseon Dynasty was located, to offer experiences with traditional Korean desserts and herbal teas. Participants can choose either the 'Pumpkin Egg Set' or the 'Pear Egg Set,' and enjoy one herbal tea from among Gungoncha, Jangsaengcha, Cheongoncha, or Omijacha.
The participation fee is 15,000 won per person, and participants will be selected by lottery. Applications can be submitted through Ticketlink from 2:00 p.m. on September 10 until 11:59 p.m. on September 16. The winners will be announced on the National Heritage Promotion Institute website at 5:00 p.m. on September 18, and ticket reservations will be available from September 19, with a maximum of two tickets per person. Additionally, from 2:00 p.m. on September 24, phone reservations on a first-come, first-served basis will be available for those aged 65 or older, people with disabilities, and national merit recipients.
