View original imageChonnam National University announced on September 8 that it will host the "2nd Yeongbong Forum at Chonnam National University in 2025," an open lecture series aimed at exploring ways for the region and the university to grow together.
The forum will take place at 2 p.m. on September 16 in the Yeongbong Hall on the second floor of the International Conference Building at the university headquarters. Gwangju Mayor Kang Gijung will serve as the keynote speaker, presenting on the theme "Turning the Value of Democracy into Opportunities for Growth," and outlining how the values of democracy can lead to regional development and future growth.
Mayor Kang is a prominent regional leader who has served as both a National Assembly member and the Mayor of Gwangju, and has worked to realize balanced regional development, innovative growth, and participatory democracy. In this lecture, he will address why Gwangju's history and democratic spirit should serve as today's driving force for growth, and share a vision for the future that the university and the region can build together.
The Yeongbong Forum is open to all members of Chonnam National University as well as local residents, and anyone can attend freely without prior registration. Participating staff members will receive 110 minutes of regular learning hours, and students will be issued a certificate of participation in an official program.
