On September 7, the federation stated in a commentary, “We actively welcome this decisive action by the ruling party and the government, and we look forward to the newly appointed vice minister serving as a vital channel of communication with micro enterprise business owners on the ground.”

The federation previously submitted over 110 policy proposals to political circles during the recent presidential election, prioritizing the establishment of a vice minister dedicated to micro enterprises within the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. In particular, this demand was strongly conveyed during a meeting with Democratic Party leader Jung Cheongrae, who visited the federation on September 3.

The federation commented, “The creation of a vice minister dedicated to micro enterprises in this government restructuring reflects the administration’s strong determination to listen to the voices of micro enterprise owners.” They added, “The federation and micro enterprise owners nationwide greatly welcome this measure and express deep gratitude for the consideration shown by the ruling party and the government.”

They continued, “The federation has consistently proposed a shift in policy to promote the organization and collaboration of micro enterprises, moving from individual business owners to small-scale markets and alley-type shopping districts, and ultimately to local commercial districts. We have emphasized that this approach should go beyond supporting individual business owners to revitalizing local economies.”

Furthermore, the federation stressed, “We hope that the newly appointed vice minister will be a field expert with a deep understanding of micro enterprise policy, extensive experience in policy implementation, and a strong background in on-site operations, so as to lead the transformation of micro enterprise policy.”
