Lee Dongsu Appointed as New CEO of Korea Line Corporation under SM Group
SM Group announced on September 5 that Korea Line Corporation, its shipping affiliate, has appointed Lee Dongsu, the Chief Financial Officer of SM Group (pictured), as the new CEO and President.
CEO Lee is an expert in finance, accounting, and planning, having worked at Kwangju Bank for 40 years. He served as Senior Executive Vice President from 2016 to 2021. He joined SM Group in 2022, serving as CEO of SM Credit Information and TK Chemical. Since July last year, he has been working as the Group's Chief Financial Officer.
Based on the management expertise he has accumulated as an executive in the financial sector and as CEO of various group affiliates, he is expected to efficiently manage financial soundness and risk in the shipping industry, where both internal and external volatility have increased.
