Green Asia to Hold Greenhouse Gas Reduction MRV Capacity Building Training
On September 5, the non-profit organization Green Asia announced that it will conduct a "Greenhouse Gas Reduction MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) Capacity Building Training" on September 25 at the Brahms Hall on the 19th floor of the President Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. The training, hosted by the Korea Energy Agency, will be jointly operated by Climate Management Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Greennarae Solution.
The training is targeted at 50 participants, primarily from the industrial sector, including companies wishing to implement greenhouse gas reduction projects, companies currently carrying out such projects, related organizations, and consulting firms. In particular, this program will focus on the entire MRV system, which is a key element for ensuring the reliability and transparency of greenhouse gas reduction projects. It will also emphasize enhancing understanding of and promoting international reduction projects.
The instructors include Dr. Oh Daegyun, who previously served as a member of the UNFCCC Carbon Market Supervisory Body, as well as experts from UNFCCC Designated Operational Entities (DOE) and other leading authorities in the domestic greenhouse gas reduction field. Participants will be able to systematically learn about the institutional foundation of greenhouse gas reduction projects, MRV system design and methodologies, case analyses, and strategies for implementing projects in accordance with international standards.
Applications can be submitted online in advance until September 15. Each organization may send up to two participants, but only those who receive a final confirmation email after reviewing the application status will be able to attend. Participants will receive lunch, refreshments, and souvenirs (subject to change), and a certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the training.
