Bus Driver Arrested in the Act for Illegally Filming Over 10 Female Passengers
Citizen Reports Crime After Witnessing Incident
A man in his 40s has been apprehended by police on suspicion of illegally filming more than 10 female passengers.
On September 5, the Gyeyang Police Station in Incheon announced that it had arrested a bus driver in his 40s, referred to as Mr. A, on charges of illegal filming under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
Mr. A is suspected of illegally filming a female passenger as she was getting off a bus near Jakjeon-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, at around 9:30 p.m. the previous day while operating a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle.
According to the police investigation, several photos of more than 10 female passengers taken illegally were found on Mr. A's mobile phone.
A citizen who was at the bus stop at the time of the incident witnessed Mr. A's actions and reported it to 112.
The police tracked the bus's route and arrested Mr. A in the act on a road in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, about 5 kilometers from the reported location.
