Taebaek City to Hold 51st Memorial Ceremony for Fallen Industrial Workers
Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on September 5 that it will hold the 51st Memorial Ceremony for Fallen Industrial Workers at the Fallen Industrial Workers Memorial Tower at 10 a.m. on the 6th.

View original imageThe Memorial Ceremony for Fallen Industrial Workers is an event held to honor the spirits of industrial workers who lost their lives during the development of the nation's underground resources and to offer comfort to their bereaved families. Taebaek City has established the "Taebaek City Memorial Day for Fallen Industrial Workers Ordinance" and has held the memorial ceremony annually, marking its 51st occurrence this year.
This year's ceremony will be attended by National Assemblyman Lee Cheolgyu, officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Taebaek Mayor Lee Sangho, Taebaek City Council Chairman Ko Jaechang, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Assemblyman Moon Gwanhyun, Taebaek City Council members, Park Changkyu, President of the Fallen Industrial Workers' Bereaved Families Association, as well as heads of organizations and social groups, mining company representatives, and bereaved families.
