The project site, covering approximately 10,000 square meters, is located behind the Seoul Dream Tree Village Green Dream Yard within Baekryeon Neighborhood Park.
The project budget is 2.01 billion won, funded by the city. Last year, the district completed the basic plan and detailed design, and finished the first phase of construction by May. During this phase, a 56-meter trail and two forest rest areas were created, and 570 trees from 16 species, including Hydrangea serrata, were planted.
Starting in August, the second phase of construction began, adding a further 436 meters of trails, four additional forest rest areas, five themed gardens, and a nature learning center, with final completion scheduled for the end of the year.
The Supjeongi will be designed to maximize the natural landscape of Baekryeonsan, featuring themed gardens using understory plantings, rest areas where visitors can enjoy seasonal scenery with maple and cherry trees, and forest playgrounds and learning decks linked to the Dream Tree Village.
Eunpyeong District expects that, through this project, all residents will be able to enjoy walking, relaxation, and hands-on experiences in nature, while providing children with opportunities for ecological learning. The project is also expected to contribute to the restoration of damaged green spaces and the mitigation of the urban heat island effect.
In addition to the "Baekryeonsan Kkummaeul Supjeongi Development Project," the district plans to expand various green and healing spaces throughout the Baekryeonsan area that residents can tangibly benefit from. With a total project budget of approximately 7 billion won, the district will simultaneously pursue related projects such as the creation of a themed complex healing park, barrier-free environments, environmental improvements to Baekryeonsan, and maintenance of the surrounding trails, aiming to establish Baekryeonsan as the leading complex healing park in the northwestern region of Seoul.
