Opening Ceremony Held for Mobile Laundry Vehicle
Daejeon City held an opening ceremony for the Saemaeul Mobile Laundry vehicle, which visits vulnerable groups such as elderly people living alone and people with disabilities who have difficulty moving around, to wash items like blankets and clothing for them.
At 11 a.m. on September 3, the city replaced an old vehicle that had been in operation for 13 years with a new one during the opening ceremony held at the Yongjeon-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Dong-gu.
About 70 people attended the event, including Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo and Saemaeul leaders.
The Saemaeul Mobile Laundry, a community-based volunteer service, benefits around 1,000 households every year.
