The agreement includes the Korea Disaster Relief Association, LH Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Galjeon Elementary School, Mujigae Elementary School, Chungmugong Elementary School, and Daegok Middle School.
Under the agreement, LH Korea Land and Housing Corporation will provide 100 million won to support the implementation of the "Visiting Disaster Safety Experience Education" program. Hope Bridge will oversee and carry out the project, while each school will provide venues, coordinate schedules, and offer on-site support.
The education program moves beyond simple theory and focuses on hands-on experiences and practical training. Students will learn evacuation procedures during typhoons and earthquakes, practice using fire extinguishers and participate in evacuation drills during fire scenarios. They will also learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to prepare for emergencies and experience realistic disaster situations through virtual reality (VR) simulations.
Starting this month, the association will visit each school in sequence, install mobile experience equipment, and conduct the training sessions. At the end of the year, a permanent safety education zone will be established at the Jinju office of LH Korea Land and Housing Corporation, allowing local children to receive safety education at any time.
Kim Jaekyung, Head of Management at LH Korea Land and Housing Corporation, emphasized the significance of the program, stating, "I hope this education helps students learn how to respond wisely in disaster situations."
