KHNP Shin-Wolseong Unit 2 Resumes Power Generation After Scheduled Preventive Maintenance
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director: Jung Wonho) announced, "Shin-Wolseong Unit 2 (pressurized water reactor type, 1 million kW class), which began its 7th scheduled preventive maintenance on July 20, completed the maintenance and resumed power generation at 10:06 p.m. on August 30. The unit reached full output at 3:40 p.m. on September 2."
During the 41-day scheduled preventive maintenance period, Shin-Wolseong Unit 2 underwent statutory inspections in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act and the Electric Utility Act, nuclear fuel replacement, and various equipment maintenance and facility upgrades. Through these efforts, the safety of the nuclear power plant was further enhanced.
