Studio Genie and AStory to Produce Three Premium Dramas Over Three Years
Strategic Partnership Built on the Success of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo"
First Project "Idol-i" Set for Broadcast in the Second Half of the Year
KT Studio Genie announced on September 1 that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with AStory for the joint planning and production of dramas. The two companies plan to introduce differentiated storytelling and high-quality productions to target not only domestic and international OTT and broadcast platforms, but also the global market.
The two companies will expand collaboration with outstanding creators and jointly develop premium content to build a competitive portfolio. Their goal is to produce at least three premium dramas over the next three years. As the first project, they are co-producing the Genie TV original series "Idol-i," starring Choi Sooyoung and Kim Jaeyoung. This production is being prepared for broadcast in the second half of this year.
This collaboration is based on the successful partnership between the two companies. Previously, they co-produced titles such as "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" (2022) and "Crash" (2024). In particular, "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" set the record for the highest viewership rating (17.5%) in ENA drama history and topped the global Netflix rankings, creating a major phenomenon.
