NH Investment & Securities Issues 10% Range Knock-In Barrier ELS to Commemorate Launch of N2 ELS
NH Investment & Securities announced on September 1 that it will begin accepting subscriptions for "N2 ELS No. 1," a new equity-linked security (ELS) product with a 10% range knock-in barrier structure, starting from September 2 to commemorate the launch of its online-exclusive ELS product line, "N2 ELS."
This is the first product to be introduced under the renewed N2 brand, differentiating it from existing online-exclusive ELS offerings. N2 ELS No. 1 uses Tesla and Palantir as its underlying assets and aims for an annual pre-tax return of 12%. The most notable feature of the product is its knock-in barrier set at 19%, the lowest among all ELS products previously issued by NH Investment & Securities. The knock-in barrier serves as the threshold for principal loss; if the price of the underlying asset falls below this barrier, investors may incur a loss of principal. Therefore, the lower the knock-in barrier, the lower the risk of principal loss.
This product has a maturity of three years. If, on any of the early redemption evaluation dates held every three months, the prices of both underlying assets remain above a certain level compared to their initial reference prices, an annual pre-tax return of 12.00% will be paid and the product will be redeemed early. Specifically, early redemption conditions are met if, at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months, the prices are at least 85% of the initial reference price; at 15, 18, 21, and 24 months, at least 80%; and at 27, 30, and 33 months, at least 75%.
If early redemption does not occur, but on the maturity date both underlying assets are at least 75% of their initial reference price, or if during the investment period neither asset has ever fallen below 19% of the initial reference price, the principal and a maturity return of 36.00% (pre-tax) will be paid at maturity. However, if any of the underlying assets has ever fallen below 19% of the initial reference price during the investment period, and at maturity any asset is below 75% of the initial reference price, principal loss of up to 100% may occur according to the maturity redemption conditions.
This product is available exclusively online, and subscriptions can be made by general investors classified as requiring a cooling-off period through NH Investment & Securities' Home Trading System (HTS), Mobile Trading System (MTS), and website from September 2 to 8. The minimum investment amount is 100,000 KRW. The product is classified as Grade 1 (very high risk) and is suitable for aggressive investors.
Jeon Donghyun, Executive Director of Product Solutions at NH Investment & Securities, stated, "'N2 ELS No. 1' is a symbolic product as it is our first to feature a knock-in barrier in the 10% range, pursuing both profitability and stability. Going forward, we plan to expand investor options by launching competitive products with features such as high coupons and faster early redemption conditions, which have not been previously offered by our company."
