This project is part of a regional recovery initiative launched after the large-scale wildfires in the Gyeongbuk·Gangwon regions in 2022. Yonsei University Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, the disaster base hospital in the Gangwon area, will be responsible for its implementation.
The main components of the project include: ▲ emergency medical support through mobile hospitals ▲ treatment cost support and specialized care for trauma and emergency patients ▲ education on burn and emergency care and distribution of emergency kits ▲ production and distribution of wildfire response manuals and preventive publicity ▲ hosting cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency care competitions. The goal is to help affected residents recover their health and to strengthen the emergency response capabilities of the local community.
Baek Soongu, Director of Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, stated, "It is meaningful to be able to utilize the capabilities of a disaster base hospital for the benefit of affected residents," adding, "We will do our utmost, in cooperation with Hope Bridge, to restore medical services in the region and enhance disaster response capabilities."
